New policies required for public discussion
New policies required for public discussion
It does not matter if someone is a passionate supporter of President Trump or who can not agree with him on almost every problem or question, most would agree. We are currently experiencing very different moments in many ways. as just recently! The purpose of this article is not to support anyone, but to try to make America civil again so that Americans start talking to each other instead of meeting each other. We have had periods of considerable political discourse and disagreement, such as the civil rights parades of the 1950s and early 1960s, murders (especially of the 1960s), the anti-war movement of the 1960s, etc. ., presidential candidates, out of the United States, the political norm (as Goldwater and Wallace in the 1960s), the drama of the Nixon era, the Iranian Hostage crisis at the Carter era, the Russian antagonism in the Reagan era, the Clinton issues and the terror controversies of September 11 and the ugliness of racism, which was overthrown by Obama's election. However, the last years under this government have given rise to lively public and private discussions, much less modesty and lies, empty speeches and promises, as well as the unique style of Mr. Trump, and so on. What the world and, especially, the United States of America now needs new guidelines / rules, we must resume discussions and listen to each other.1. The effects of social media: one of the results of ease, convenience and popularity.
Social media is the flow of information, but often many are not objective (even misleading), distorted or provocative. While it is acceptable to have your own opinion, it does not mean that you have a right to your own facts! I think the policy should be: Do not post or comment until you've done your due diligence and tried to verify the facts. Keep the civilian tone and avoid meanness, provocation of others, accusations and above all insults, fools (or worse), because you have a different view / opinion / perspective!
2. The 24 hours a day, availability of news (especially the extension of Cable News and Internet / Web News): in a hurry to be the first to publish so-called last-minute news often appears to have rushed to judgments , insufficient sources for review, etc.
3. Lack of sincere empathy due to reluctance to listen effectively: If we wanted to agree, disagree, but do so with civil and respect, the tone of the discussions would be much more favorable and unifying. We all need to listen more without interrupting and learn from every conversation and experience to improve our judgment and, hopefully, wisdom! Keep in mind that for most people their favorite sound is their own voice, so let others speak and speak. Wait to answer and avoid judging!
4. Do not speak in others: Talk to others and not to them! Avoid accusing yourself, making fun of others or talking to them!
5. It is alright to disagree, but be polite: In America we have the right and the freedom to disagree with others, with our government and / or with any political or public leader. However, we must emphasize a tone that is always polite and polite!
